    We now ask who signs for a diver under 18

    A booking form that found a diver was under 18 simply started asking for a parent or guardian's name and a signature, and accepted whatever was typed. It never asked whether the person filling it in was actually their parent. And nothing stopped someone under 18 making the booking themselves.

    • We ask, by name — "Are you [diver]'s parent or legal guardian?" If yes, they sign as before and are shown what they are attesting to.
    • If not, the parent gets it — the signature pad is removed and the form is emailed to the parent instead, who fills in the child's details and signs for them.
    • A minor cannot make the booking — someone under 18 booking for themselves is now told a parent or guardian needs to do it.
    • Your office is unchanged — staff book for families exactly as they do now.
