The counter reads the certification card with a camera
Walk-ins scan a QR code and type their own details. A passport or a cert card is read by the camera, and a seat with a safety field missing cannot be checked in.
Without it
A walk-in stands at the counter while somebody types their name, their date of birth, their agency, their level, their certification number and the date of their last dive off a laminated card, into a screen, with the boat leaving in ten minutes.
What Seascape does
A QR code on the counter opens a check-in page on the guest's own phone, where they pick their trip and fill in their own details. At the desk, the camera reads a passport, a driving licence or a certification card and fills the fields in; the barcode on the back of a North American licence is read on the device with no round trip. Marking anybody checked in is refused while their date of birth, agency, level, certification number or last dive date is missing.

Waivers and check-in
The waiver goes out with the confirmation, is signed on the guest's own phone, and is on their record before the tanks are loaded. The version of the text they agreed to is stored with the signature.
