September 10, 2026Age rules for young divers, and for whoever is booking
Your booking page now knows how old everyone on a booking is — and what your shop lets them do at that age. Every rule is yours to set, and yours to switch off.
- Whoever books has to be an adult — we ask the person making the booking for their date of birth, and anyone under 18 is told to call or email you instead. They can still be one of the divers; an adult just has to make the booking.
- Very young divers are sent to you, not turned away — under 12 by default, the booking page asks the customer to contact you directly, with your phone number and email on the refusal. That's the one you'd want to arrange a private guide for.
- A child needs an adult on the booking — under 14 by default, at least one diver with their details filled in has to be 18 or over. "They'll fill this in themselves" doesn't count as the adult, because nobody has proved who they are yet.
- Junior divers are held to a depth — 12–14s are limited to 21 m by default, PADI's own figure, checked against each activity's depth. An activity with no depth set is never refused on depth.
- All of it is yours, under Settings → Pricing → Young divers — every age, the junior depth, and one switch that turns the lot off. A diver under 18 still needs a parent or guardian to sign their waiver either way: that one is the law, not a setting.
- Snorkel and tour bookings are untouched, and so is your front desk — these apply to dive activities booked online. Your staff can still add anyone.
