    Downloaded spreadsheets are safe to open

    Every CSV export now treats what customers typed as plain text, so a name or note can never run as a formula when the file is opened in Excel or Google Sheets.

    • Customer text stays text — names, emails, notes and descriptions that start with = + - or @ open as text, not as a formula, in the bookings, payments, QuickBooks, clients, reservations, invoices, quotes and payout exports
    • Phone numbers open as text — a number like +501 600 1234 shows as typed in Excel or Google Sheets instead of being calculated; a tool that imports the file raw will show a leading apostrophe (')
    • Amounts stay numbers — refunds like -12.50 still add up in a spreadsheet and still import into QuickBooks
