How much does a booking fee actually cost a dive shop?

It depends on your season, which is the point. A percentage on applicable bookings grows with your takings, so the month you are busiest is the month it costs most. A flat subscription does not move when a boat fills.

Is a free plan not better than a subscription?

It can be, if you sell little online or sell mostly through a marketplace the free plan exempts. Read which bookings the percentage applies to before comparing monthly prices; the fee, not the plan, is usually the bigger number.

Does Seascape connect to marketplaces?

Not today. Bookings come from your own page, the embedded widget, the counter and the phone. If selling through resellers is the centre of your business, that is a real difference and it is worth saying out loud.
